Quick Summary of The Magic of Thinking Big
Everyone wants to be a success. In order to succeed you must believe that you can succeed. Ultimately, success is determined by the size of your thinking. There is magic in thinking big.
My Notes on This Book
- We are influenced by the thinking of those around us.
- "Belief is the thermostat that regulates what we accomplish in life."
- "A person is a product of their own thoughts."
- No one will believe in you unless you believe in yourself.
- Think about success, not failure. You are better than you think you are. "Never sell yourself short."
- "Big ideas and big plans are often easier -- certainly no more difficult -- than small ideas and small plans."
- Be continually engaged in a program of self-development.
- Excuses become embedded in our subconscious. Avoid them. The more successful one becomes, the fewer excuses they make.
- Refuse to worry or complain.
- Be genuinely grateful.
- Don't underestimate yourself or others.
- Be curious and enthusiastic.
- "Stick ability is 95% of ability."
- Discover and focus on your natural strengths and abilities.
- Know that you are winning even when it looks like your not, as long as you are still in the game, learning, and adjusting. Play the long game.
- Take time to create and cultivate ideas.
