Who’s Writing the Story of Your Life

Ten years from now, if someone were to write a story of your life, would it be a one worth reading? Most of us are so busy making a living that we forget what we want our life to look like.  We are so busy getting through the days that we forget we have the ability to write our own tale.

“Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today.” – James Dean

Write Your Story

The truth is we are constantly writing our own story. But, what if we took the time to actually write out the one we want told?

Every story has a protagonist, a hero who is in the midst of a journey or adventure. You are the hero of your story. And, right now, you are at some stage of your journey. What is your adventure? What do you want it to be?

Every story has an antagonist, a villain of sorts that challenges the hero. Who are the villains in your story? What is challenging you?

In almost every story the hero meets a helper, a guide or a mentor. Who are your helpers, your guides? Who are you learning from? What do you need to learn?

Almost always, the hero comes to the edge of the abyss with a choice to make, a price to pay. What choice do you need to make? What price do you need to pay?

And, once the hero pays the price, they are transformed. What will your transformation be?

Finally, in almost every story, the hero returns to share the gifts of their experience. What is it you want to share? What lessons will you teach?
